Ideas to cable manage your desk

Hello everyone, today we are going to discuss about one of my personal pet peeve, organization.
In order to maintain a well focused mind, you must have your desk organized. I happen to record myself going over the process of decluttering my desk and making my space more cohesive.
I moved my switch from the floor to on top of the table. I had set it on the floor because I didn't have a space dedicated when I first built my desk, now I have a dedicated area for some of my servers as well as my switches.
On this process, I used a number of items to run my wires through, creating a channel underneath my desk. This gave my work area a new look and makes it easier to find things around.
The items used for this project are:
- Zip Tie Mounts: https://amzn.to/3U25nze
- Zip Ties: https://amzn.to/3U25xXm
- Velcro Ties: https://amzn.to/3MaORuU
- Double sided Scotch Squares: https://amzn.to/432SSaM
- Headset Mount/Charger: https://amzn.to/3nEI9mS
- USB Hub: https://amzn.to/3Gc7niH
- USB 3 Cable Extension: https://amzn.to/3zJYolv
- 1.5 Ft Micro USB: https://amzn.to/40BsrHK
Now that you have the full list of items, I will walk you through how I used them to organize the cables.
I used the zip ties mount under the desk to create a channel along with the zip ties, and yes, I know that the zip ties can be more permanent but these are wires that I know I will not be moving for some time. I then used the mounting pads to mount the power extensions on the wall, ideally, you might want to screw into the wall for a more permanent placement. I used the velcro ties to wrap around any cable slack behind the server.
Since I needed to extend some USB connectors to a central area of my desk, I used a USB 3 cable extension and combined it with a USB hub, Here I have connected my camera, headset and USB from the monitor to the PC. Last but not least, I mounted a Headset mount under my desk with charging ports, now the USB on this only provides power. This comes in handy to charge the headset when I go to sleep, using a short 1.5 feet micro USB cable.
